Clough Harbour & Associates Becomes Newest Tenant of Saratoga Technology + Energy Park

Clough Harbour & Associates (CHA), a leading energy and environmental engineering services company, has taken office space at the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park® (STEP®) in Malta, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) today announced.

“NYSERDA is pleased to welcome CHA to STEP and we look forward to partnering with them in new ventures that promote clean energy practices in the construction sector,” said Francis J. Murray, Jr., President and CEO of NYSERDA.  “CHA, with its strong environmental practice, has the potential to leverage the important work being done by others in the STEP portfolio.  Developing and supporting these companies will help meet the ambitious energy reduction goals set by Governor David Paterson.”

“America’s engineering and design industry has fully embraced sustainable building in all its forms. For many years, we at CHA have been at the leading edge of this trend in providing design expertise for renewable energy generation and resource efficient buildings, infrastructure, and landscaped environments. With our new location on the STEP campus, we have a remarkable opportunity to team with some of the sharpest minds today at work on a range of clean energy and environmental challenges. With the support of NYSERDA and the collaborative atmosphere at STEP, we have a platform for making great strides in the business of sustainable design. All of us at CHA are looking forward to working closely with NYSERDA and our fellow professionals throughout the STEP community,” said Raymond J. Kinley, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, CHA Inc.

CHA will operate at STEP’s 107 Hermes Road building, which also is home to GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Lockheed Martin, and the Building Performance Institute, among others.  A CHA associate will be based permanently at the park and offer a wide range of CHA’s services.

STEP is also home to TEC-SMART, the Training and Education Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing and Alternative and Renewable Technologies, which opened its doors this past January.  A $13.5 million partnership between NYSERDA and Hudson Valley Community College, TEC-SMART features more than a dozen smart classrooms and advanced laboratories that will be used to train the workforce in green technologies, including semiconductor manufacturing, photovoltaic, home energy efficiency, geothermal, alternative fuels and wind energy.
